Angel of Forgiveness
"I saw an Angel on a postcard Playing a lute,
I loved that 'Angels' truth,
I heard that 'Angels' song.
I carried it with me
from that day on ~

Angel of Forgiveness Song
"Angel, Carry me home,
see me through,
I want to be closer to you."

That same night,
I created a painting of it,
a bigger Angel,
Electric Blue.
In the morning,
I left it, when I moved.

I left the Painting when I moved,
yet, with me through the rain,
I carried the Postcard in a Dollar Glass frame.
I hung it on an Empty wall besides
a yellow Dress,

tired, needing to find rest,
I packed it up and left.

"I had been beaten down, I had no home
I felt defeated, nowhere to go.
"Angel, carry me home, see me through
I want to be closer to you."

"So I called up my father, a Soldier in my past.
20 years, since we spoke last.
He had no idea, I'd be there.
"I have something I've been saving, he said,
in case I ever saw you, again.
"You're gonna' love it!".
I met him on 6th Ave. to ask him for a bed.
My life was in danger my eyes said,
His were disguised by years of tough life,
as he handed me a bag.

" And there within my arms was my Angel,
My Angel with the lute,
Gilded Gold Antique Print her father handed her in a hefty bag.

Only it was Antique Gold and Bigger too.
My Angel of Forgiveness, my Angel of Truth.
"I am not beaten,
I have a song,
I'm not defeated ~
Somewhere to go.
"Angel carried me Home."

A Painting with my father "dear 'Ol dad" and the Gilded Angel of Forgiveness print 1992.
Her Dear "Ol Dad hung it front & center of where he sat, next to his
Heart Break Ridge Korean War Photos.

1986: I found the first kiss print in a closet. My sister said it was from our father - she gave it to me.
Inspired with hope,
I sketched it through the night. Then called and found her estranged father, tried to remind him of his innocence and for a few years he agreed to send more Angels, even after saying, "No, I'm no good, I killed people in the war, she knew he was. Good. After all, he found, gave away and I suppose believed in Angels.
