  Kathi Nordone started sketching portraits at 13years old, first pencil, while in Highschool, she taught under the Tutelege of John Osborne on Saturdays; PenPaintings and later Murals,her first for 

Tapestry dance Company. While getting her BFA at University of Texas Austin, she worked as a Sign Artist at

local grocery store, winning awards and singing on fruit crates "She's a GOOD'n" KVET said.  

Soon creating a line of Greeting Cards.

Her cards were inspired by old Angel prints her father found in NYC, she reached out to find him after many years apart.  She would sketch them. Her first buyers were Wheatsville Coop, Whole foods,

The Cadeau, Breed & Co. Ann Breed was an inspiration to her.

 

Kathi moved from Austin in 1992 with an Angel musician postcard in her suitcase and her left behind painting of it - 

The post card was a reminder of innocence, beauty and inspired her to keep on. 2 weeks after her move - on 26th & 6th street Chelsea Street Market. She saw her father - 20 years estranged - she met him on 26th & 6th Ave.  and   He handed her a bag - carrying  the same Angel she was carrying - only it was Antique gold and bigger too.

After seeing her father on 26th and 6th -  next day she was invited to show at The Jacob Javitt's Convention Center with Tarkay a famous artist.She accepted and all of her art was shipped to NY by a college friend -  Lance Lestcher.

 

Kathi moved back to Austin to perform at KUT 90.5with John Aielli and record  Angel of Forgiveness She performed a song Sweet Reality at The  (Dougherty Arts Center) in Austin . 

 

 She taught Color Theory at Austin Community College, and started her own Home Portrait Business.

     Eventually moving to Maine, where her Angel winged cards gave way to intimate portraits of the humble songbird Cheering,

 

 followed by a series of whimsical ink images,

Currently her paintings are for sale at

 River Arts Gallery, Damariscotta Maine. 

​

Kathi holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and All Level Art Teaching Certification from the University of Texas. Her work has shown at the Jacob Javitt's Center in New York City, Texas Carved Stone in Florence, Texas, Image gallery Austin, Pemequid Gallery Bristol Maine & currently at River Arts Gallery Damariscotta, Maine.

In Austin, Kathi was interviewed by John Aielli KUT, written about by the Austin American Statesman by Michael Barnes and been played on air at KGSR and WFUV radio stations.
